London Billingsgate Fish Market

Woke up this morning at Dawn yep quit early, and met up with a freind and we went to Billingsgate Fish Market, for those who dont know Billingsgate Fish Market is an old fish market since 1327 and Billingsgate was known as Blynesgate and Byllynsgate before the name settled into its present form. The origin of the name is unclear and could refer to a watergate at the south side of the London City where goods were landed – perhaps owned by a man named ‘Biling’.

Once i went in, the market was filled with Fisher men and shops selling All kind of Fishes, Crabs, Shrimps, Lobsters and other stuff Now the first thing you would say that i would be leaving that place smelling like fish, but the funny thing is i didn’t, i mean the place didn’t stink, everything was very organised and clean, in this picture you would see on the floor the black line is actually a water drainage and every few minutes someone would clean the area and water would go to the drainage, thats nice.

So lets say you would love to learn more about how to buy Fish and how to cut them or how to Cook them, at Billingsgate Market there are classes you can attend, my freind who we went together he attended the course and gave me really positive feedback.

Ok the market is not considered a tourist attraction, and i know allot of people are not going to jump out of there seats to come check this place out especially that Billingsgate market opens from 4 am till 9 am only but seriously i like it. Of course all the customers are locals, people looking for fresh and less pricey

I would like to thank my good freind “Ash” who toke me to Billingsgate Market, Thanks you
